We want to help transition to an open, trustless web.
Siloed -> User-controlled
Rethinking online ownership is key to the open web. Users should own their accounts, storage, data, and permission companies to use them as they (users) see fit. Not the other way around.
Abuse-prone -> Trustless
Security, privacy, and ownership can't depend on trust. Adopting trustless standards in storage, authentication, etc. is a must to ensure censorship and data abuse are not an option.
Centralized -> Decentralized
The web is currently held by a handful of centralized actors. We believe the future of the web is open and permissionless, users should't have to rely on a handful of organizations online.
Closed -> Open Source
To ensure new standards are adopted universally, we must maintain an open source ecosystem. The future web has to be built and reviewed in community.
A new trust(less) standard.
We're helping to make user-controlled, encrypted, peer-to-peer, and censorship resistant apps the new norm.
Great experiences can be user-controlled.
All product we know and love today can begin their road to trustlessness without sacrificing their experience. We're making file storage user-owned with Space to prove that.
Space SDK, the building block.
To help anyone achieve this, we’re creating a new open distributed web protocol stack, using IPFS, Textile, Filecoin, and Ethereum so anyone can leverage the perks of the Open Web.
Hear more about this stack.
Listen to the 6th episode of the IPFS podcast, where we shared a look into how this protocol stack makes it easier to create user-controlled and privacy-first websites and apps.
